Over the next few days, we’re going to make some changes to the Coffee & Power site to remove our virtual currency, the C$. While we’re big fans of virtual currency here at C&P, after talking to our early adopters and some hard thinking on our part, we’ve decided to move to a US$ payment mechanism for our small job marketplace.
It is our hope that this change will help to make it even easier for both buyers and sellers to get things done on our site. We do not anticipate this change will impact your day-to-day Coffee & Power experience, but we’ve prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions for the transition:
C$ Change FAQ
- Why are you making this change?
We believe this change will make it even easier for new users of Coffee & Power to use the site.
- How will this impact my in-progress missions?
This change should not have any impact on your in-progress missions.
- What will happen to my C$ balance?
Your balance will remain the same, but the C$ will automatically “switch” to US$ at a 1:1 exchange. For example, if your C$ balance is C$123.40, your new balance will be US$123.40.
- Is there still a fee for withdrawing funds out of the system?
Yes, C&P charges a transaction fee of US$0.15 per $1.00 withdrawn. We’ll credit your US$ directly to your PayPal account. It can take 24-48 hours for your balance to be processed.
- How do I get more US$ in my account?
Adding US$ to your balance is easy, you can use your credit card (Visa/MasterCard, American Express, Discover) or Paypal. There is no fee for adding a balance to your account.
