Today we’re excited to launch our third coworking space at the Urban Grind Coffeehouse in the Pearl District of Portland.
The Portland Workclub joins the original Coffee & Power Workclub in San Francisco and our second space in Santa Monica. All of the Workclubs can be used free by C&P users. All three spaces help Coffee & Power facilitate more transactions and provide a neutral public area for collaboration between users.
“Coffee & Power is a great fit for Portland,” says Dian Crawford, owner of Urban Grind Coffeehouse. “We tend to look to our community for talented people to collaborate with and Coffee & Power will help foster that sense of community.”
While some C&P listings don’t require people to meet in person, others might require people to meet face to face. For example, the San Francisco C&P Workclub has hosted language lessons, video editing tutorials and even custom Halloween costume creation. “With the growing startup culture in Portland, we believe the ‘Silicon Forest’ is a great fit for Coffee & Power,” says Philip Rosedale, C&P co-founder.
We encourage all Coffee & Power fans who live in and around Portland to check out the new C&P Workclub and enjoy some of Urban Grinds famous java.
Portland Event
To celebrate the partnership, the Portland Coffee & Power Workclub will be hosting a tech startup event on Wednesday, March 14. The event will feature Scott Kveton, CEO & Co-Founder of Urban Airship, a successful Portland-based mobile services platform provider and include a few words about Coffee & Power from special guest and C&P co-founder Philip Rosedale. Follow the Portland Workclub on twitter: cpworkclub3 or keep an eye on this blog for more information!
Portland Buzz
We’ve been very excited by the initial response to our newest C&P Workclub. Below is a list of the great articles written about our Portland C&P Workclub so far:

Join the C&P Workclub Network
We’d like to expand our C&P Workclub network even further. If you have (or know of) an existing cafe or office you’d like to open up to entrepreneurs and the coworking community, we’d like to hear from you. A C&P Workclub is a physical space where the C&P community can go to transact with each other, meet new people, and share ideas and best practices over a cup of coffee. C&P Workclubs should have an abundance of free power, wifi and (preferably) java!
