At Coffee & Power, we like to wax futuristic about what work will be like 10 years from now.  Our vision includes the ultimate flexibility to choose who you work with, what time you work, what projects you work on, and where you work. Our mobile app in the works has some cool ideas that could change how you collaborate. Now we’re experimenting with ways to improve where you work – in other words, anywhere you want. But how can you work anywhere, when you need outlets for all your gadgets?

The answer is the new C&P Solar Workclub. Our space-age mobile office is powered by flexible solar panels, which transport easily and can power a 4g WiFi network plus charging laptops and devices (and maybe even an espresso machine someday).

Last week, our intern Tyler took version 1.0 of our mobile office rig out for a test run in the nearby Duboce Park. After plugging everything in and turning on the WiFi successfully, we felt a little like Neil Armstrong must have when we Skyped back to headquarters, “We’re live”.  Nothing quite like being connected while basking in sunshine, amidst San Francisco’s stunning Victorians and frolicking dogs.

So it won’t be too long before you really will be able to work anywhere – in a park, at the beach, on a boat.  The C&P Solar Workclub could pop-up near you, with plenty of coffee and power for all.  Tomorrow, June 15, we’ll be out in San Francisco.
